4 R's of Coaching for Innovation and Growth
There are different approaches to the work of coaching, different strategies
for delivering, developing and evaluating so the coaching that is done
instills leadership skills and more importantly values within the organization.
The Lamont Group offers as a framework for this
kind of coaching with "The 4 R’s of Coaching for Change
and Growth."
Coaching is just the new term for mentoring. But whatever the term the
ability to share wisdom and experience to individuals who thirst for that
knowledge, can impact an organization to grow and reach performance levels
in excess of most goals and objectives. Consistent coaching sessions and
having the ability to spend time with a Coach is critical to unleashing
innovation and top performance.

Coaching
Issues |
| Relationships | How are people connected to each other and to the "leadership"
group/team? How is this group connected to organization? What are people's assets, what can they build together and how will they work successfully? What kind of leadership is envisioned and possible? |
| Results | What has the group achieved and what is possible? What is critical and what will it take to grow? Who are the champions/leaders and how effective is their communication to achieve innovation and growth? |
| Reflections | What has worked and what didn't and why? How has change and innovation worked in the past and what changes are needed? What is needed to bring out more innovation and what structural changes should be made? |
| Reach | How can the “leadership” make a lasting difference?
Where is the potential for individual, team or organization innovation
and growth? What is the preferred future and what do people have to learn or change to make it happen? How will people "be" innovators while "doing" the work? How will the leadership changes and effort lead to achieving the newly established growth goals and objectives? |
There are seasons and cycles of coaching where a coach is working with
individuals and groups when all four are happening simultaneously. Participants
will have natural affinities for one or more of the "Rs” and
it is the Coach who recognizes their need. This makes the practice of
coaching an "art," not a technique, as a coach helps generate
clarity, communication, a shared purpose and most important, execution.
Without execution and achievement all innovation and growth will be lost.
The best coaching is built on powerful principles. The Lamont
Group offers more than 30 years of real world experience
as a senior executive and CEO and the most powerful principles of successful
mentoring, growth, innovation and execution. Our coaching focuses on these
powerful principles:
- Coaching is learning; every person can learn and teach.
- Coaching treats every person as an individual, recognizing that each offer unique strengths.
- Coaching is a collaborative experience whose primary goal is building a high performing culture within an organization.
- Coaching unleashes potential and energy in individuals and teams.
- Coaching results in significant “measurable” innovation and growth.
